Once part of the world's first international rail-sea-rail link, Folkestone Harbour branch station reopened in a new role in 2018, part of a landscaped walking route connecting the Harbour Arm, Boardwalk and Viaduct. This project has been assisted by a grant from the Regional Growth Fund, with support from the South East Local Enterprise Partnership, Kent County Council and Shepway District Council.
