Open space
The future of Folkestone Harbour Station is exciting. The respectful refurbishments have allowed for this space to become widely accessible to the public. It is now a walkway that connects to the Boardwalk, the upper Harbour Arm and the viaduct. You can enjoy circular routes that give views back to the town, and link with different areas of Folkestone. These pedestrian routes are much loved by dog walkers and families alike.
The space has also become a place where the community can join together to celebrate events such as singing carols at Christmas. Walking With Ghosts is an annual event in November where you can learn more about the war heritage of the site.
Modern services
There are also new businesses integrated into the fabric of the station. The Signal Box hosts a Sicilian-inspired cafe called Let’s Amore. Brewing Brothers has window seats that look out upon the station platform. There are links to The Goods Yard and the Harbour Arm.
Artworks that have been part of Folkestone Triennial Festivals in the past also adorn the Station. The Station becomes a crossroads connection between Folkestone’s Creative Quarter, Beachside and Harbourside.
